  • Jada Burke is a Finalist in the Varsity Brands Most Spirited Student Competition
PCHS is excited and proud to announce that Jada Burke, a 2018 PCHS senior cheerleader, represented Putnam County High School as the only Georgia finalist for the Varsity Brands’ National Spirit Awards Most Spirited Cheerleader. Jada was honored at the National Spirit Awards show at Walt Disney World Saturday, May 12. The awards show will air on the CBS Sports Network Sunday, June 10. Olympic gold medal gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Pennsylvania-based teacher Richard Curtis hosted the special event.

In 2014, Varsity Brands released a study revealing that students with higher levels of spirit perform better academically, are more involved and feel happier and more connected to their school and community. This is why the Varsity Brands School Spirit Awards were created. These awards honor the very best of America’s high schools by recognizing outstanding schools, organizations and individuals that go above and beyond to build school pride, student engagement, and community spirit.

Jada was selected to represent Georgia and PCHS out of hundreds of applicants based on leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
